2022 marks the 75th anniversary of COP Construction! We’re proud of our longevity and the role we have played in building communities and enhancing the lives of our friends and neighbors with our heavy civil construction solutions. Over the past 75 years, we have built and maintained many long-term, meaningful relationships with clients, partners, and communities as well as more than 200 full-time employees. We pride ourselves on the work we do and the way we treat people. That’s how we got to be 75 years old – and that’s how we will continue to operate for the next 75 years!
“I can’t tell you how proud I am of the work we have done and the lives we have touched over the past 75 years,” said Ed Bedell, who ran the company for over 20 years before handing over the reins to current President & CEO Glen Perry in April 2021. “We worked really hard to build a solid reputation and we are known not only for our expertise and the quality of our work, but for our safety standards and the relationships we have built over the past 75 years as well.”
From the beginning, COP was different from other construction companies, many of which are family-owned or operate under an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. COP has always been, and continues to be, owned by a small group of key employees and ownership changes hands as careers change. This provides the opportunity for dedicated employees to become owners and allows the company to transcend generations.
Our ownership model and a company culture that places value on training, resources, and opportunity lead to a very a high employee retention rate and ensure quality, as all of our projects are staffed by knowledgeable, experienced craftsmen who take pride in their work.

To celebrate this tremendous accomplishment, COP has developed, using their original logo, a special 75th anniversary logo which will be used throughout the year to denote this important milestone.
Looking back over the years at all of the projects we’ve completed, the success we’ve achieved, and the people with whom we have crossed paths, it is amazing to see the impact we have had on the quality of life for so many people. We are grateful for the support we have received from our clients and partners, and are proud of all that we have accomplished. We will continue to dedicate our time to enhancing our local communities by improving infrastructure and to building relationships that will carry us into the future.
