Project Description

Project Description

The project consisted of the installation of approximately 5,054 lineal feet of 20-inch DIP culinary waterline and 4,554 lineal feet of 30-inch DIP secondary waterline including fitting, valves, blow-off, air vacs, boring beneath railroad tracks. COP was able to get the native soil on site to pass for trench backfill, this reduced the amount of backfill, haul off and dump fees all of which reduced the overall GMP of the project. COP was also able to reduce fittings, utility lowering and the length of the jack and bore to bring the project under budget by about 4%. The schedule was delayed 3 weeks in the approval process. This gave us a start date of the mid-september and shortened COP’s time frame to complete the work by Christmas in the street. COP adjusted to the shortened schedule by putting an additional mainline pipe crew on the job. Due to this speed up  it was paved for the residents before Christmas and winter weather.
